Olympic superstar Bode Miller writes exclusively for UniversalSports.com about his life on and off the slopes.
SAN DIEGO -- I'm all ready for Lake Louise this weekend. After Levi, I flew back to Colorado and did some double training sessions for a few days at Copper and Vail. It felt good to be back on the long boards.
Weather is always a factor in Lake Louise. The past few years, I was fast in the training runs but had no chance in the race because bad weather came in. The guys with the early start numbers were the ones who won because the weather was good for them. It can be a little bit of a bummer that way but hopefully it's OK this year.
My face healed quickly after the gate incident. I just have some bruising and a scab now. My knee is a little swollen and puffy from all the traveling but it should be fine for the race.
We have a few days off before Lake Louise so I'm out in San Diego now hanging out with Dacey. We just finished an early Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, mashed potatoes and the whole deal. It's nice to be able to do that because I'll be up in Canada getting ready to race the actual holiday.
