The second downhill of the season is coming up Saturday! I am in Beaver Creek now trying to stay warm and charge down the Birds of Prey. Before I move on to Beaver Creek, quick recap of Lake Louise.
Basically a tough week for both myself and the team. We lost TJ Lanning for the season on the DH race day, first race of the season. He was just coming back from an injury last season, so it was tough to see him go out, especially being in pretty much the same situation myself. I got to see him in the clinic here in Beaver Creek, and he is doing really well and has a great attitude. Still some really difficult injuries to overcome and has a couple of surgeries still ahead of him. I wish him the best of luck and a speedy recovery!
The actual races for me were tough- I went on my side on the top of the DH and continued on just to get some more miles in, but was well off the pace. The SG I went out on the pitch, so overall it was a tough series.
I am trying to sort out a few things with my back but I am still looking forward to the races here in Beaver Creek. It is always fun to race here in front of the home crowd and on this hill.
Also here at Beaver Creek I have a new sponsor to announce! I have partnered with H2O Overdrive for the season. They are my new headgear sponsor, which is really cool. I have been enjoying their drinks for the last year and I am proud to expand my relationship with them to include my headgear space.
