Skip Niklas Edin led his Swedish team to bronze medals at the World Men's Curling Championship in Regina, Canada, with a 7-6 win over Norway's Thomas Ulsrud. Sweden scored a point in the final end to clinch the victory.

Sweden beat Canada 7-5 to win the World Women's Curling Championship in Denmark, and did so in similar fashion to the 2010 Olympics, when Canada failed to convert in the final end. It's the third world title for Swedish skip Anette Norberg.
