U.S. men under the radar but playing for gold
Team USA General Manager Brian Burke has made no secret of the fact that his team will be underdogs in Vancouver. With Canada and Russia sending virtual all-star teams to the Games, Burke admits the expectations from outside may be low. His expectations, however, are different. Says Burke: "We are going there to win."
Shanahan retires after 21-year hockey career
Hockey veteran Brendan Shanahan surprised the hockey world with his abrupt retirement Nov. 17. Shanahan's almost certain Hall of Fame career lasted 21-years and included three Stanley Cup trophies and an Olympic gold medal with Canada in 2002.
