According to the Detroit Free Press, 2010 Olympic ice dancers Emily Samuelson and Evan Bates have ended their partnership.
The duo missed the 2010-11 figure skating season after a training accident in which Bates severed his Achilles tendon.
The news comes as a bit of a surprise as the duo skated together for more than 10 years and prior to the injury, made a coaching changed to Igor Shpilband and Marina Zoueva, the team that coaches world champions Meryl Davis & Charlie White and Olympic champions Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir.
Together, Samuelson and Bates won the 2008 world junior championships and were the 2009 U.S. silver medalists. They competed at the 2010 Vancouver Games and finished 11th in their Olympic debut.
It was reported that both Samuelson and Bates are looking for new partners.
