The world records keep falling in the pool.

American Jessica Hardy downed the women's short-course 50m breaststroke world standard at a World Cup meet in Moscow on Saturday, stopping the clock in 29.36 seconds. Amazingly, she also held the previous record of 29.45 - set in Durban, South Africa a few weeks ago.

In the men's 100m butterfly event, Russian Evgeny Korotyshkin turned in a world-record time of 48.99. Ian Crocker of the U.S. was the former owner of the low mark, his time of 49.07 standing since 2004.

And in one of the last events of the day, South Africa's George Du Rand lowered the men's 200m backstroke record. He touched the wall in 1:47.08, stomping on Austrian Markus Rogan's former low of 1:47.84.

Five world records have fallen at the two-day Moscow meet, and four were broken in Durban on Oct. 16-17.

The FINA/ARENA Swimming World Cup is a five-meet, short-course series that spans the globe. Stops in Stockholm and Berlin are next week, and Singapore will host the finale on Nov. 21-22.
