Hannu Manninen won his third World Cup title this season and the 48th of his career with his victory on the home snow of Lahti, Finland.

Manninen, who just missed out on a medal in the large hill event in Vancouver, dominated the field from the 5km mark on.

Felix Gottwald of Austria was in second but considerably behind the Finn's time of 25:08.6.

World Cup winner Jason Lamy Chappuis of France was third, 35.9 seconds behind Manninen and 7.5 seconds behind Gottwald.

Most of the traditional U.S. team skipped the event, but Nick Hendrickson and Taylor Fletcher finished a respective 40th and 41st in the race.
