Paerson finds a calmer route to her 3rd Olympics
As a two-time defending overall World Cup champion heading into the 2006 Olympics, the pressure was on Swedish skier Anja Paerson to bring home Olympic hardware. Things are decidedly different this go 'round as the 28-year-old veteran -- who only recently scored her first World Cup win of the season -- enters her third, and possibly last, Olympics.
Bode looking to race each Olympic event
We haven't heard as much from Bode Miller leading up to the 2010 Olympics compared to 2006, but plan on seeing him compete just as much as four years ago. He plans to race all five Alpine events in Vancouver. This was not a given as Miller skipped summer training while debating retirement and still might not be in top shape.
Vonn modest about Olympic chances
As a dominating force for the past three seasons on the Alpine World Cup, many feel Lindsey Vonn is selling herself short with her modest Olympic goals. Come Vancouver, the American says she will be satisfied with winning just one Olympic medal of any color even though she's considered to be a serious medal threat in each of the five events in which she's entered.
McKeever an inspirational sight
Legally blind since his late teenage years, Canada's Brian McKeever will achieve a long-cherished dream and a place in the record books when he represents his country at the Vancouver Olympics. The cross-country skier will also make history in becoming the first Winter Olympian to also participate in the Paralympic Games in the same year.
