The U.S. women's Olympic ice hockey team was selected by USA Hockey officials on Dec. 17. Click here to get the scoop on each player.
In a single-elimination tournament, underdog status doesn't mean all that much. It is certainly true that the U.S. roster isn't as impressive as Canada's or Russia's. But it's not true that the roster is substantially less talented than others, just because the players aren't as famous.
The official deadline for the 23-man roster submission is Dec. 31. Some teams will publish theirs sooner. The U.S. got permission to wait a day, in order to make the announcement during the Winter Classic on Jan. 1. The deadline to make changes is Feb. 15. See who made the final cut here!
